Eleven Carthage High School students test positive for COVID-19, 95 students under quarantine


COVID-19 cases are on the upswing at Carthage High School, with 11 students testing positive and 95 under quarantine as of Tuesday, according to the R-9 School District website.

The district has 14 students with coronavirus, including one student apiece at Columbian Elementary, Carthage Intermediate School and Carthage Junior High and one Steadley Elementary staff member.

The number of students under quarantine has increased from 73 to 184 students in the past week.







In addition to the 95 at the high school, the following buildings had students under quarantine:

Carthage Junior High  33
Carthage Intermediate Center 29
Steadley Elementary  9
Sixth Grade Center  7
Early Childhood Center 4
Mark Twain Elementary 3
Columbian Elementary 2
Fairview Elementary 2

Five staff members are under quarantine, including two from Steadley and one apiece from Columbian, Fairview and the Intermediate Center.
