Joplin reports 34th COVID-19 death, 39 cases confirmed in 24 hours

 

The Joplin Health Department reported the city's 34th death due to COVID-19 this morning.

The victim was a 94-year-old woman who was a resident in a long-term care facility, according to a department news release. (The death was reported after the posting of the numbers on the city's COVID-19 dashboard.)







The department confirmed 39 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.

The number of city residents who are hospitalized fell from 33 to 32, while the total COVID-19 occupancy at Mercy and Freeman hospitals increased from 83 to 85.

The number of people under quarantine rose from 278 to 333.
