Neosho R-5 to extend fall break to allow quarantines to expire, more time for cleaning buildings

(From the Neosho R-5 School District)

Fall Break is coming early!

At the October board meeting, the board approved a recommendation from the administration to adjust Fall Break on the school calendar.

School was scheduled to be in session for a full day on Monday, the 23rd and a half-day on Tuesday, the 24th. The adjustment means that Fall Break will now start Monday, November 23rd and will extend through Friday, November 27th.

By making this change, we will be able to create a nine-day closing. It will be a much-needed break for the NSD Team and students. In addition, it will likely allow most quarantines to expire and additional time for cleaning in the buildings.

This will not affect any other aspect of the school calendar as the district will still exceed the amount of hours required. To view the school calendar, click below.

Sure, the kids don't really need those days in school, used to be 180 then 175 and now who knows how many days of instruction they will be receiving. All is well and good as the little critters will be ripe for working in a chicken factory/turkey farm and making those amazing and safe wages. Sad affair and we wonder why decent manufacturing jobs do not come down here to invest in our future. Compare Neosho/Joplin area with Springfield and you see why one area prospers and another wilts.
