Record 82 patients in Mercy, Freeman COVID-19 units, 39 cases confirmed among Joplin residents

It was just Monday when Joplin Health Department Director Ryan Talken described the COVID-19 census at Freeman and Mercy hospitals as "full, but manageable."

At that time, 69 coronavirus patients were being treated.

On each day since, a record high number of patients has been recorded.

On Tuesday, it was 74, Wednesday 76, and the previous record was shattered Thursday with 82 COVID-19 patients in city hospitals.

Of those 82, 23 were Joplin city residents the same as the previous day.

Thirty-nine new COVID-19 patients put the city's total at 1,702.

The number of active cases increased from 130 to 54, while the number of people who are under quarantine fell from 314 to 301.

Joplin has recorded 28 deaths due to COVID-19.

WAKE UP JOPLIN!

I Wonder if the City Council - Could have Helped Stop some of the Outbreaks - with a "Mask Ordinance" - Like Springfield, MO and Kansas City, MO.

But Joplin is Ran by and Elected by "IDIOTS" - so you get what you Vote into Office. Hopefully you have not Lost a Family Member or Friend to this DEADLY DISEASE - or have Family Member or Friends on the Front Lines - having to Help Others and Putting Themselves and their Families at Risk for People that thought this COVID Pandemic was a Hoax or some type of Political Issue.

Again, this is not a Political Issue, a Republican vs Democrat - but a Major Medical Outbreak that requires - Drastic Decisions - Leadership to "Do The Right Things".
