The Newton County Health Department reported two more COVID-19 deaths.
The victims were a woman in her 60s and a man in his 70s, according to a department news release. The deaths bring the county's total to 35.
Twenty-two new cases were reported in 24 hours, according to statistics posted on the Health Department Facebook page this evening. Newton County has confirmed 2,381 cases.
The number of people who are in isolation increased from 308 to 310, while the number hospitalized fell from 19 to 18.
