Neosho woman charged with four counts of child abuse

The Newton County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed four felony child abuse or neglect charges against Deshaunta Domonique Morrison (DOB 1997) who allegedly abused the children and continued to do so in front of an investigating Neosho Police Department officer.

According to the probable cause statement, the person who initially reported the alleged abuse said he went to Morrison's home after receiving a phone call from his son who was staying the night there.

The reporting man was told {name redacted}observed Morrison yelling at the children while they were cleaning the kitchen and described Morrison hitting three children.

From the probable cause statement:

{He} stated that Morrison struck {one child} in the head "as hard as she could," followed by striking {another child} with similar force. He further stated Morrison then hit {a third child}.

{He] stated the children's grandfather attempted to intervene but was met with vulgar and lewd behavior from Morrison. She reportedly pulled her pants down and told him to "eat her left cheek."

{He} stated that he attempted to get {name redacted}out of the home, but Morrison refused to let {him} speak with him in private. She threatened {him} saying, "If you say anything, you're going to regret it."

While I was speaking with the RP (reporting person) and {name redacted), {another juvenile} approached and appeared visibly shaken and crying. When asked if he was okay, {he} shook his head no and confirmed that this type of abuse happens frequently before breaking down in tears.

{He} further disclosed that Morrison had chased the children around the house in the past with what he believed was a taser and that she frequently uses physical force against them.

I spoke with Deshaunta Morrison, who admitted to disciplining the children, but denied any abusive conduct. However, during our conversation, Morrison proceeded to strike a juvenile female standing next to her. The child displayed fer in both her body language and tone.

Morrison asked if she was going to jail. I informed her that was not yet determined. As I turned to walk away, Morrison stated, "I'd rather be in jail than with these kids."

Deshaunta Domonique Morrison, another crazy "Karen", why are all these women abusing their children. No Child should be abused, hopefully these children get away from this pathetic piece of 💩.

What about parental rights? It's not for the government to decide how we raise our children. They took the bible out of schools and now they want to approve our discipline and nutrition. We need to rase up and pray for a return to a godly country.,

There is a big difference between parental rights and abuse.

I was raised when we said the Lord's prayer every morning in school and every night my alcoholic dad would beat the crap out of us and our mother. No one stepped in to stop it. That was when we were "a godly country ". Thank God those "parental rights" were taken away.

5:27, there is a huge difference between abuse and disciplining a child. Neither of which have anything to do with the Bible or commandments being in the school. Parents are fully allowed to take their children to church on a regular basis without any government intervention. Hitting a child around the head and upper body and using a taser is abuse. Discipline is to be used to teach a child, which should be done first by showing a child proper adult behavior and then explaining how the child’s behavior was inappropriate. This woman’s behavior is unacceptable and inappropriate in every way. The police report did not say if this woman was arrested but I would hope for the children and her father sake that she was. If she wasn’t, I would like to know why the officer felt it was safe to leave her in the house with them. The children were obviously begging for someone (police officer) to rescue them by coming and telling the officer what was occurring to them. Obviously, this woman’s has no self control if she could not control her own behaviors in front of a police officer. If she was left in the home, I hate to see what may now happen to these children, since she had no qualms about threatening a grown man if he told.
