Mental evaluation ordered for double murder suspect

A mental evaluation has been ordered for Micah Holman, 32, Carthage, who is charged with two counts of murder in connection with the June 4, 2005, murders of Marvin and Peggy Steverson of Carthage.
Dennis W. Sowers of The Carthage Press reports:

"The defense had him evaluated," said Prosecuting Attorney Dean Dankelson. "We asked for him to be evaluated as well. We hope to have him evaluated soon in the next week or two."
Dankelson said the order addressed whether Micah Holman - accused in the double murders of Marvin and Peggy Steverson, of Carthage- was competent to proceed at the present time.
"It has nothing to do with his mental state at the time of the crime," Dankelson said.

This animal committed this murder not because he was mentally ill. He killed this beautiful couple due to his drug habit! Having him evaluated to find out if he was looney was a big waste of time and of the tax payers hard earned money!
