The support of retired billionaire educational voucher supporter Rex Sinquefield and Republican Majority Leader Steve Tilley weren't enough to push Rep. Rodney Hubbard, D-St. Louis, over the top in his Fifth District State Senate race against Robin Wright-Jones.
With all 95 precincts reporting, Ms. Jones beat Hubbard by 111 votes, 6,196 to 6,085 or a difference of one percent, 50.5 to 49.5.
As noted in the Aug. 4 Turner Report, Hubbard outspent Ms. Jones 4-1, with $51,300 coming from Sinquefield's shell committees, including $14,850 on Friday. Hubbard also received $650 from the House leader from the opposition party, Steve Tilley, and $33,682 in direct expenditures on his behalf from national educational voucher support group All Children Matter.

Well,it was a close race. Just shows there are many Hubbard supporters in the area. If I were in that district, he would have had my vote for sure. Hubbard has the best ideas for education...its quite unfortunate he was not elected!
