It's not exactly the company a leading conservative normally keeps, but a New York artist known for working with gay themes is the biggest contributor to Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder's lawsuit against the federal health care program.
The list released by the lieutenant governor includes two contributors who gave $300. One was Maureen Mullarkey, Chappaqua, N. Y.
Ms. Mullarkey, according to the New York Daily News, is an artist who is "known for her colorful canvasses of drag queens and gay pride parades." Apparently, she is also an artist with a penchant for contributing to conservative causes, since she came under fire for a $1,000 contribution supporting California's Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage.

Perhaps she knows what lurks in Peter Kinder's closet....
