That's because he is too busy living High on the Hog!Sad thing is, he will get re-elected, over and over and over.....
Why is this so surprising? When was the last time a Joplin City council member held a town hall meeting for the constituents in the zone they represent?
Because he doesn't have to. His chance of being voted out of office is nil, so he doesn't have to mingle with the peons.
Hey, give him credit for what he has done for Las Vegas and the work he has done for the distillers in the US. Oh, don't forget he bought the Japanese minister a box of golf balls with our money and made sure he knew it came from us. He represents SW MO and that is why I am anxious to move to another part of the world. Of course, there is always Blunt and his mega-million dollar family and how they just scrape along on the dole. What a joke we would be, but then there is Kansas a stone throw away that hogs the spotlight on how not to do politics.
A small group of his constituents tried to set up a meeting with him at his office in Spgf. during the month of February or March. We were told by his office that Rep. Long would not be available as he would be in Washington DC for the next 100 to 200 days as the President wanted to get things done....now we see Rep. Long is in Japan this week rather than back in his district for a district work week. The House of Representatives calendar is posted on MajorityLeader.gov. Check it out and get familiar as to when Rep. Long is suppose to be back in the District. Let's get Rep. Long out of his comfort zone!
It should not come as a surprise that Billy Long is avoiding a Town Hall Meeting with the people he represents. Billy has never had time for then except at election time and then he does not make himself available for debates or question. The man is a Coward who fears that his base will find out what a massive fraud he really is. It is all about the paycheck and, more importantly, the campaign funds which he freely spends on trips, booze, food and poker.
