Government wants Joplin man held without bond while awaiting trial on child pornography charge

The government is asking that a Joplin man be held without bond while awaiting trial on child pornography charges.

A grand jury indicted Kevin Wilson, 54, November 8 for allegedly receiving and distributing child porn between March 21, 2017 and April 2, 2018 in Jasper County and elsewhere, according to court records.

In the detention motion, the assistant U. S. attorney noted that Wilson confessed to downloading the child pornography and that two ounces of marijuana and "approximately 30 firearms" had been seized during a search of his home.

Wilson's attorney has been given until November 29 to provide reasons why his client should be given bond.
