The Webb City R-7 Board of Education instituted new procedures or checking the buses after a three-year-old was stranded on a bus.
The plan was laid out during Tuesday night's board meeting, following the incident in which the child was left on the bus following its first run and only discovered when the second route of the day began.
From KSN's report:
“For us, they entrust us with the care and security of their child and we failed on that aspect,” says Dr. Anthony Rossetti.
On Tuesday, the Board of Education discussed what happened and approved new protocols and procedures that would make this nearly impossible to repeat. This includes a more through walk of the bus and a new position being added to make sure that bus is clear once it is at the bus barn.
“Their number one duty would be to go out and check those buses. Once in the morning and in the afternoon,” says Dr. Rossetti.
