For the first time in years, Billy Long's Republican party is not in control of the U. S. House of Representatives, but the Seventh District Congressman does not think that is necessarily going to make things easier for the Democrats.
"The Democrats have their own Freedom Caucus now," Long told KOLR, referring to the number of left-wing progressives who were elected earlier this month.
Long said the newcomers will pose the same problem for the Democrats that the Freedom Caucus did for the Republicans.
"Democrats will have to move to a less liberal position because the new crop coming in is for far left, they're not going to get 218 votes to do what they want to do."
In the accompanying video, Long also notes something else that will make things interesting for Democrats over the next two years.
"Everybody's running for president."
