Joplin City Council to audition replacements for JIm West

Joplin City Council will hear from applicants to replace veteran City Councilman Jim West during a special session 6 p.m. Monday, March 11, at City Hall.

West resigned suddenly with the City of Joplin issuing the following news release:

Jim West resigned from the Joplin City Council yesterday. We thank Jim for his 19 years of service to the City and wish him well.








He served as a general council member during the following terms:
1988 - 1996; 2000 - 2004; 2006 - 2010; 2016 - February 15, 2019.

We do not know the reasons for his resignation and refer any questions to him.

At this time, West has yet to offer any specific reasons for his resignation.
