The Jasper County Health Department announced the 24th COVID-19 fatality for the county in a news release today.
The victim was a man in his 80s who had been hospitalized prior to his death.
The county confirmed 34 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, putting the total at 2,005.
The number of people hospitalized increased from 16 to 17, while the number under isolation jumped from 123 to 138.
The statistics do not include the portion of Jasper County that is located in the Joplin city limits.
