The City of Joplin hasn't received the bill for the recently completed state audit yet, but City Manager Nick Edwards estimated the cost at a quarter of a million dollars during an interview with KZRG.
“We do not yet have the final bill but the State Auditor told us to go ahead expect around $250,000,” Joplin City Manager Nick Edwards told NewsTalk KZRG.
“That’s a cost that’s borne to the city,” Edwards added. “So it’s ours to pay. When we get that bill, we have set aside the funds to pay that.”
(Note: The Turner Report will have more information on the audit results during the next few days.)

I would have audited the city for much less but I’m an illegal immigrant so they deported me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If the City Manager Nick Edwards, was intelligent they should have budgeted and put some money to the side for this expense -
The city does business with known criminal Bobby Landis. I’m sure he will show the city how to generate $250K to cover the tab.
If they had planned ahead then they couldn't complain like little WATBs now.
It's like when the doctor thinks you might have a big problem and he sends you to get a colonoscopy and an MRI and other tests to diagnose what if anything is wrong.
You can tell everyone you didn't need a colonoscopy and the colonoscopy was completely clean but people know better. Everyone knows that it's the doing that matters at least as much as the results.
It seems like some readers miss the point of the costs. All the taxpayers to the city pay that cost.
