(From the Dade County Sheriff's Office)This morning, a charter bus carrying students from Bolivar, Fair Play, and Dadeville was involved in an accident near Phillipsburg in Laclede County. The students were traveling to the FFA convention in Indianapolis when the bus left the rain-soaked highway and overturned.
Approximately 50 students were on board. Ten were treated for minor injuries, and all students have been accounted for and reunited with family or are en route home. We’re grateful to Laclede County first responders and the Conway School District for their quick action and care.
Dadeville is part of our Dade County family, and we’re proud of how these students carried themselves in a moment that could have shaken anyone. Their composure, and the support they received, speak to the strength of our rural communities.
We’re thankful for the safety of our students—and for the coordination that helped bring them home.
