Joplin man charged with sexual misconduct after exposing himself to children at Casey's

A Joplin man who allegedly exposed himself to children at the Casey's General Store at 403 N. Main was charged today with two felony counts of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15.

Adrian P. Lucas (DOB 1998) pleaded not guilty during his arraignment today in Jasper County Circuit Court. His bond is set at $7,500 cash only.  A bond review hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. October 15.

From the probable cause statement:

Adrian Lucas was determined to have been inside of the gas station, Casey's General Store, while V1, V2, V3, V4 and V5 were in the gas station or in the parking lot.

While V1, V2 and V3 were walking down the hallway to the bathroom, Adrian walked around the corner with his penis exposed, eye level with V2 and V3, two juveniles.

V5 was a gas station employee who observed Adrian standing near a cooler with his buttocks exposed and when he told him to pull up his pants, Adrian turned to face him, exposing his penis to V5 as well.

V5 immediately told Adrian he needed to leave the property and {Adrian} cursed at him while walking toward the door. While exiting the store, V4, another member of the family of V1, V2 and V3, was walking toward the store from the gas pumps and observed Adrian leaving with his penis still exposed as he continued to scream at V5 from the parking lot.

All victims wished to pursue charges.

Adrian was contacted near the gas station, matching the description, identified by a gas station employe after being detained and V4 stated he never took his eyes off of him from the time he left the store until officers contacted him. He was taken into custody on the above charges.

While at the jail, I read Adrian his Miranda Rights, recorded by my body worn camera. Adrian stated he did not understand then asked me what he was being charged with. I explained his charges and he stated his pants were falling down and he had chlamydia. He did not answer any other questions nor were any other questions asked.

The case was investigated by the Joplin Police Department.

Adrian was arrested last year for sexual misconduct too. I hope the judge puts him away for a long time
