A Joplin man pleaded guilty to second-degree child molestation today during a hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Sentencing is scheduled for 1 p.m. December 1.
Under a plea agreement with the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office, two counts of statutory sodomy were dismissed.
According to the probable cause statement filed in December 2023 in Jasper County Circuit Court, Jason Black molested a girl beginning when she was eight in 2020 and continuing for three years.Black acknowledged sending the text messages, according to the statement.

Help me understand how an 8-11year old (who has a phone) was receiving texts of this nature and no adult ever intercepted them.
