The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed burglary and harassment charges against a Joplin man who allegedly followed a woman home and entered her home without permission after she bought him a bag of chips at a gas station near her home.
An arrest warrant was issued for Anthony Wilson (DOB 1994) with bond set at $50,000 cash or surety.
From the probable cause statement:
On 10/14/2025 at 0447 hours, I Officer Encarnacion was dispatched to 2113 South Maryland Avenue in reference to a burglary.While en route to the address listed above, I was informed that a male, later identified as Anthony Wilson, was found inside of one of the bedrooms inside of the residence. {The victim} stated she woke up to the sound of Anthony moaning and talking to himself on her bedroom floor.
When she woke up, Anthony made the comment "Your butt looks good in those gray sweatpants."
{Two witnesses} stated that after they were alerted by {the victim}, they escorted Anthony out of the home until Officers arrived. They explained that Anthony would have had to have unlawfully entered from the back door of the residence since it was the only door they remembered to be left unsecure.
{The victim} stated that she did recognize Anthony from an occurrence that occurred one day prior to this
report when she bought him chips from a gas station near her home. She suspected that Anthony followed her home without her knowledge after the gesture.
The case was investigated by the Joplin Police Department.
