Gringo's, McDonald's, Maverick, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen fail Joplin Health Department inspections

Four establishments failed Joplin Health Department inspections Monday, according to information posted on the department website.

Failing grades were given to the following'

Gringo's, 315 W 26th Street

McDonald's 2701 S. Main Street

Maverick, 5002 S. Main Street

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, 3120 E. Hammons Boulevard

Gringo's

Gringo's received a priority violation for cold holding potentially hazardous foods above 41 degrees.

McDonald's 

McDonald's received one priority violation and four core violations.

The priority violation was for having the sanitizer concentration for chlorine at 0 ppm

The core violations were for the following:

-Excessive condensation on walk-in freezer resulting on ice accumulation on ceiling near the cooling unit

-Surfaces inside the cabinet below the dispenser at the register have an accumulation of residue

-Refuse on the premises is not being removed as necessary

-Employee jacket improperly stored in kitchen

Maverick

Maverick received one priority violation and one core violation.

The priority violation was for failing to maintain potentially hazardous foods at 41 degrees or below.

The core violation was for syrup accumulations in the cabinet

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen received two priority violations and four core violations.

The priority violations were for pico de gallo being cold held above 41 degrees and for meat in the reach-in cooler being cold held above 41 degrees.

Core violations were cited for the following:

-A container of Alfredo dressing wasn't properly labeled.

-The handwashing sink was being used for food preparation making it unavailable for proper handwashing.

-Worn and cracked tiles were seen throughout the kitchen with standing water beneath the dish machine, steam wells and inside the meat walk-in cooler.

-Hard-to-reach areas beneath equipment had accumulated debris
