Graham crashes $5,000 mark in lobbyist gifts

Sen. Chuck Graham, D-Columbia, continues to lead all Missouri state senators in the dubious category of gifts received from lobbyists.
The latest filings with the Missouri Ethics Commission show Graham has piled up $5,409.59 in lobbyists' gifts, including $468.61 in October and $2,484.60 since the legislative session ended in May.
During October, the assistant minority floor leader had 11 days on which he received meals from lobbyists, according to the Ethics Commission records, including two separate meals, totaling $149.22 on Oct. 17 and 18 from Drew Schauffler. The lobbyists' form for October has not been put on the Ethics Commission website. Most months during 2006, he has not had any expenditures, and on the months he has, it has been attributed to his law firm, Hendren & Crouch.
According to the Ethics Commission, Schauffler is registered to lobby for City of Branson, General Motors, solid waste firms, health care firms, Missouri Cable Telecommunications, Missouri Insurance Coalition, and a number of insurance interests.
