Emery supports possible Fred Thompson candidacy

Add Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, to those who have jumped on the Fred Thompson for President Bandwagon.
Emery and 55 other Republican House members support Thompson, according to a news release issued earlier today by Rep. Carl Bearden, R-St. Charles. Bearden did not release the name, but three legislators, including Emery were quoted in the release, according to Jason Rosenbaum's Columbia Tribune political blog:

Rep. Ed Emery (R-Lamar) said, "Fred Thompson is the kind of conservative Republican that will win big in rural Missouri."

Well, the posted comments on the blog say it all: Thompson “possesses all the qualities that make a great President,” and “Fred Thompson is the kind of conservative Republican that will win big in rural Missouri.”
Apparently the qualities of a great president for the Missouri GOP is a great voice and an actor, which is to say a professional liar. Has he shown leadership, or even exceptional understanding, or the issues and problems that face our country? Haven't we had enough of Republican Presidents who are experts at getting elected and horribly incompetent leaders?
