KSNF has story on Marvin VanGilder's death

I neglected to mention it earlier, but I was pleased to see that KSNF had a brief mention of the passing of historian/journalist Marvin VanGilder during its 10 p.m. newscast.

I did not see anything on KSNF's sister station, KODE, nor did I see anything on KOAM.

Perhaps, as the Joplin Globe noted, the best tribute to Marvin VanGilder is offered in his own words each morning at 7:55 when KDMO, 1490 AM, Carthage, plays one of his classic series of 700 brief programs on Carthage area history.

A wise man once said, all living things try to rally right before death. Since KSN is suffering so miserably in News Ratings, when will they try to add more News on their way out? Didn't Mr. Sook recently say, if you're not #1 or #2, then you should get out of Local News? I can't believe they will stand still since the new set idea failed, all that's left is a hail marry. Maybe News at 4pm, or extending a Newscast like FOX did in some Monkey see, Monkey do scenerio. In any case, a rally before death is common. I guess we just need to wait and see if a rally is attempted.
