El-Amin sentencing delayed three weeks
The sentencing of former Rep. Talibdin El-Amin, D-St. Louis, who pleaded guilty Sept. 24 to federal bribery charges, will be delayed three weeks, according to an order filed Thursday in U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. The sentencing, originally scheduled for Monday, will now be held Wednesday, Jan. 6.
El-Amin's lawyer asked for the postponement citing the former legislator's recent knee surgery to repair a torn ACL. "Pain is an issue," the motion indicated.
