Former Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander, nearly defeated incumbent Sen. Roy Blunt despite Missouri going heavily for Trump in the 2016 election, is considering a try at the nation's highest office.
Kander, who has been developing a national profile with his Let America Vote organization and with numerous television appearances, told the Portsmouth Herald he is thinking about running for president.
The interview took place during a visit to New Hampshire, traditionally the first primary state, for Let America Vote.
If Kander were to run and be elected, he would take office at age 39 making him the youngest president in American history.

I'm guessing that this is a strategic run - he doesn't expect to win, but the candidacy will raise his profile for a later run that could be successful. If he makes a good showing, he'll have established himself as a viable future candidate. It's a long game, after all.
I would much rather have him run for Governor. He can actually pull that off and would be an excellent Governor.
