Missouri State Parks has launched a new website designed especially for recruiting military veterans for positions within the state parks system. This new site is a significant step forward in a continued initiative by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to recruit and hire more veterans, starting with its Division of State Parks.
Governor Eric Greitens announced the effort during a visit to a job fair at Fort Leonard Wood aimed at hiring more veterans to the Missouri State Parks system. “Our veterans’ proven dedication to service makes them uniquely qualified to protect our public resources in Missouri State Parks,” said Governor Greitens. “We’re grateful for their sacrifices and proud that this new initiative will help give opportunities to those who have sacrificed for us. It’s the right thing to do.”
The Missouri State Parks veteran recruitment website includes a list of positions currently open to veteran applicants, details on the application process and an overview of State employee benefits. There are also links to a wide variety of employment services and resources for veterans provided by other state and federal agencies and programs.
