Prosecutor drops felony invasion of privacy charge against Greitens

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner dropped the felony invasion of privacy charge against Gov. Eric Greitens this afternoon.

By dropping the charge before the jury is impaneled, double jeopardy does not attach. The case is expected to be turned over to a special prosecutor who may or may not refile the charge
