More signs that Neosho Daily News owner is destroying its publications

Two more signs that GateHouse Media, the company that recently shut down the Carthage Press (thought that newspaper has relaunched under different ownership) is destroying its relationship with its readers and customers.:

New office hours for the Neosho Daily News, another GateHouse newspaper on the brink of extinction are 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon Monday through Thursday. The business office is closed every afternoon and all day Friday. That is a great way to connect with your customers.

Accounts from out-of-state newspapers indicate GateHouse is selling the iconic Rockford, Illinois Register-Star building and moving into a small facility and is doing the same thing at its Quincy, Massachusetts newspaper.

This is not a sign of the times for the newspaper industry. This is gross incompetence designed to make money for a few executives and shareholders at the expense of turning out a decent news product, or any product at all, to loyal readers.

I don't think they are incompetent at all. They are actually very good at doing what they are paying themselves to do.

This looks just like the large retail bankruptcies driven by investment banking asset stripping.

Thanks for enabling all these crooks Ronald Reagan!
