Arkansas reports 34 COVID-19 deaths

Governor Asa Hutchinson provided today's update on Arkansas's COVID-19 response.

In its Thursday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 2,202 new cases; 19,723 active cases; 1,005 hospitalized, which is down 59 from Wednesday; 181 on ventilators, which is up 2 from Wednesday; deaths added today, 34, for a total of 2,820; a total of 178,854 cases; 136,150 recoveries; PCR tests, 14,242; antigen tests, 4,133.








The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Pulaski, 232; Washington, 185; Benton, 148; Faulkner, 97; and Craighead, 88.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

“Yesterday saw a very strong day of testing, with over 18,000 total tests administered. A decrease in hospitalizations is a good sign, but this has not been the trend. Continue to wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance as you are out and about."
