Fentanyl trafficking charges filed against Joplin woman


Michele Annelise Jenny (DOB 1982) was charged with second degree drug trafficking today following an arrest by the Joplin Police Department's FLEX team.

According to the probable cause statement, Jenny was arrested after she was stopped for traffic violations at W 16th Street and S. Moffet Avenue.







From the probable cause statement:

Michele was observed by FLEX Members at a known narcotics location within Jasper County. The
vehicle was stopped after leaving the residence. 

During the stop, K-9 Officer Brannin utilized his Police K-9 on the vehicle K-9 Officer Brannin advised his Police K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics. The driver and owner also consented to a search of the vehicle. 








When the vehicle was stopped originally, Michele's jean shorts were completely undone, and the zipper was down. This is consistent with trying to conceal narcotics. Michele later admitted to having Fentanyl concealed on her person. She later provided the substance to Jail Staff. The substance was inside a plastic bag.

Inside the bag was an off-white rock- like powder believed to be Fentanyl (Schedule II Controlled Substance). The bag and substance weighed 2.68 grams. The substance tested positive for Fentanyl
