Structure fire on N. Illinois Avenue in Joplin deemed 'suspicious'

On November 11, 2025, deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a structure fire at 3188 N. Illinois Avenue, Joplin, Missouri.

Upon arrival, deputies observed significant fire damage to the property. The Missouri State Fire Marshal was called to the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of the blaze. 

Preliminary findings from the Fire Marshal’s Office indicate that the fire appears to be suspicious in nature.

The incident is still under investigation and no further details are being released at this time. Additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
