"Salute to Veterans" concert in Joplin canceled due to government shutdown

(From Missouri Southern State University)

The 135th Army Band has cancelled its scheduled concert, “A Salute to Veterans” which was planned for November 9 at 3:00 p.m. at the Joplin High School Performing Arts Center.

“It is with great sadness that we share this announcement,” said Lisa Green, KGCS-TV General Manager and event coordinator.

“We were informed by the 135th Army Band comprised of Missouri National Guard members, that the government shutdown prohibits their travel and scheduled events.” The Joplin concert was one of several the unit had planned for the Veterans Day weekend recognition.

Missouri Southern State University Department of Communication and KGCS-TV will work to reschedule the free concert for the community at a later date.

The concert was to be hosted by the Missouri Southern State University Department of Communication and Joplin High School and sponsored by Dawson Heritage Foundation with additional support from Pinocchio School of Dance, Joplin Elks Lodge #501 and Joplin Gold & Silver.

So much winning with Republicans in power.

It's a good thing Trump has made groceries more affordable.

He's also made a lot of deals for Missouri farmers selling corn and beans too!
