(From the Newton County Sheriff's Office)On October 31, 2025, The Newton County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the municipal agencies in the county to ensure all registered sex offenders residing in Newton County were following state law regarding the Halloween holiday. A total of 88 registered sex offenders were checked in Newton County.
Newton County Sheriff’s Office checked on 67 sex offenders and reported 0 non-compliant.
Neosho PD checked on 12 sex offenders and reported 0 non-complainant.
Granby PD checked on 4 sex offenders and reported 1 non-complaint. This person was also arrested for an active warrant.
Seneca PD checked on 4 sex offenders and reported 0 non-complaint.
Diamond PD checked on 1 sex offender and reported 0 non-compliant.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office does sex offender compliance checks weekly throughout the year but increases these checks during Halloween to ensure safety and to ensure state laws are being followed. The Sheriff’s Office thanks the municipal law enforcement agencies for their assistance with these checks in keeping our neighborhoods safe.
