(From the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's Office)Jordan Romero, 36, Joplin, entered guilty pleas in two stealing cases and was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for a term of nine years.
On March 28, 2024, Jordan Romero was charged with stealing telecommunication wire which had a value of more than $750.
On July 1, 2024, he was charged with being in receipt of stolen telecommunication wire. Both charges are class D felony offenses which carry a range of punishment from two to seven years in the Department of Corrections.

Because the defendant is a prior and persistent offender, having at least two prior felony convictions, the range of punishment increases to a maximum sentence of ten years.
On November 17, 2025, the defendant entered guilty pleas in both cases and was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for a term of nine years. The defendant also admitted to violating the terms of probation in two other cases. His probation was revoked, and those sentences were also executed. All

Romero was also facing charges from 2019 for robbery, burglary, and assault, but those charges had to be dismissed due to lack of evidence and witnesses.

Instead of going out and getting a regular 40+ Hour per week job like most people, Jordan Romero, will now spend the next nine years, less for good behavior in prison, maybe one day he will figure out that it is better to toil than steal from and live off of others - which when the SNAP and EBT Benefits were Stopped during the Government Shutdown, do you think any of those Recipients, Thought - "Maybe we should start filling out Job Applications", NO, they knew - that the Democrats have built a System to keep them enslaved and tied to their Party and the Government - Never finding Independence or becoming Self-Sufficient in Life. He looks like another "Joplin Rat" The definition of a Joplin Rat is....... one of the MANY people wandering our great city, that do not have one ounce of benefit to society. They are a drag to our community, and ruining our great city. Lets bus them elsewhere, just like they were done to us.
I find it rather depressing that instead of being grateful that you're not in this mans shoes, you feel the need and have the desire to spew your hatred for others online. Fascinating.
I would argue that it's people like you, whom think complaining and berating others instead of joining a cause to help solve the problem, is a greater detriment to our great city than this man is. Maybe neither one of you can help but to act out in terrible ways, I hope both you, and him find some sort of peace, purpose and belonging in this world. We will all look back on our lives one day, asking ourselves what we could of done different. I hope you have that opportunity, and I hope this is one of those things.
