Everybody beats Globe on Francis leaving JPD

Today's Joplin Globe featured a report on the Webb City Council's decision to hire Joplin Police Detective Carl Francis as the city's police chief. This is a major blow to the Joplin Police Department, since Francis was scheduled to serve as Joplin's interim police chief until a replacement for Kevin Lindsey can be hired.
Therefore, it was no surprise that the Globe covered this story. What was surprising is that everyone and his sister had the story before the region's leading news source.
The 10 p.m. news on KOAM, KODE, and KSNF Thursday night all carried the story on Thursday night, while Michelle Pippin had the information for the Joplin Daily on Friday.
At the least, the Globe could have posted something on its website Friday after the story was broken by the broadcast media Thursday night. Don't the Globe editors pay attention to their competitors?

Before you know it, they will be beating the competition off with both hands.

The Globe is so arrogant they don't trust the television stations. Not to mention they couldn't get confirmation from anyone. Also, KOAM broke the story at 6 p.m. and the other stations had to scramble. Webb City was way behind the curve when it came to releasing the info also. They were crazy enough to think that once notice is given to that many officers and the city that they can still control the release of the information. Maybe one day Chance Morgan will learn that he is the world's worst communicator and hire an actual p.r. person. Maybe that p.r. person will help give him a personality.

Just goes to show the relationship between JPD and the Globe.

Ghost of the Globe Rat? What happened? Get fired? Seems that the precedent has been set at the Globe. Miss a story like this and someone gets fired. Whose head will roll this time?

No one's head will roll. The city of Joplin has shown open contempt for it's longtime police officers in continually going outside of the city for its police chief nominees.

So, Dave McCracken is gone and now Carl Francis. I'm sure Francis will do a fine job.

Who the hell is Chance Morgan?

Before you start slamming Chance Morgan, have you ever thought it may not have been his desision? Considering that the mayor, John Biggs and the city council are over him I would be putting the blame on them! Or better yet on all of the crazies that elected them into office! You might think he the "world's worst communicator" and that a pr person would give him a "personality" but maybe he is just a lot smarter than all of you and just dont understand what he is saying. Maybe some of the blame should fall on the idiot mayor and council!

I don't know what your problem is, but I haven't seen anyone slamming Chance Morgan on this blog.

I am just quoting part of the comment written by anomymous two below you. They were direct quotes and they were not meant for you.
