That fire — among the deadliest group home fires in Missouri history — prompted Department of Mental Health officials to order inspectors back into the other three homes this week run by Joplin River of Life Ministries. Department spokesman Bob Bax said inspectors were to brief department officials Friday on their findings but the meeting was canceled because of the weather.

Post-Dispatch: River of Life had faced loss of licenses
The Saturday St. Louis Post-Dispatch joined in on the investigation of the Anderson Guest House fire, noting that the state may have been about to pull the plug on area Guest House facilities.
