Hartzler: Senate Democrats willing to shut government down, deny our troops unless they get their way

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-04) issued the following statement minutes after the Senate failed to pass a continuing resolution to keep the government open.

“On Thursday, January 19, I supported a continuing resolution to fund the government through February 19. This measure funds the government, reauthorizes the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and funds our troops. Minutes ago, Senate Democrats proved that they are willing to shut the government down and deny our troops funding unless they get their way, and they refused to pass the bill.

“Senate rules require sixty votes in the Senate to pass this funding bill and re-open the government. I call on Senate Democrats to join us in a bi-partisan manner to fund the government and fulfill our obligations to the American people - they deserve better.”

Oh Vicky you're trying this again? Quit trying to scare your voters, the military will get paid just like always (hint: they are considered essential services). Besides they just got paid on the 15th and will get paid again on the 30th, that is their regular pay schedule. Stop this crap please.

Weird because our Senator McCaskill proposed paying armed service members during the shutdown and McConnell refused to bring it to a vote.

I think the entire group shpuld be fired. They are running a personal agenda instead of what's best for this country.
Not one is fit to be in office.
They all have a comfortable income, insurance and benefits. They no longer care about the individual.

It's all past the point of being ridiculous.

I stand corrected about military pay, the military has one more payday before February. They still will be there on duty 24/7 as always, they won't be happy but they will be there.

Hey, Vicky. While you're at it, you might want to thank the 5 Democrats who voted with you and condemn the 5 Republicans who voted against you on this. But that would screw up your Republican talking point, I guess.
