Joplin man waives reading of indictment on federal meth trafficking, weapons charges

Christopher L. Meister, 41, Joplin, waived the reading of his superceding indictment on federal meth trafficking and weapons charge this morning in U. S. District Court in Springfield.

Meister was originally arrested March 11 after officers conducted a controlled-delivery of a package
that law enforcement and postal officials suspected contained methamphetamine.

After he accepted the package, a search warrant was ezecuted and it was discovered that the package contained 10 pounds of methamphetamine. The search also revealed numerous firearms, inclding a an assault rifle and a tactical shotgun.
