So you want to be a Diamond R-4 assistant principal/athletic director

The Diamond R-4 School District posted the following advertisement today for an assistant principal/athletic director:

Assistant Principal/Activities Director

The Diamond School District is seeking applicants for the combined position of Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for the 2019-20 school year. 

The Assistant Principal position would encompass grades 5 through 12. 

Sample duties would include: 

-assisting the building principals in leading staff and students to improved student learning. 

-assisting the building principals in establishing a positive school culture. 








-assisting the building principals in providing a safe learning environment for all students and staff. -assisting the building principals in making high quality decision regarding staffing, programs and budgeting. 

The Activities Director will be responsible for the overall operation of the high school and middle school MSHSAA sanctioned programs. 

Applicants will additionally be responsible for building a positive culture in our activities among our student/athletes, our coaches and our community. 

Some of the duties include: -building of schedules for all MSHSAA sanctioned activities -contracting officials and all necessary workers -supervision and evaluation of all athletic coaches and programs -supervision of events -MSHSAA eligibility and transfer process -coordination of facilities for practices and contests Position will be an 11 month contract and starting salary will be in the $60,000 - $65,000 range.

Why would anyone want to teach there? What a cesspool of dysfunction. And why does a school this small need an asst. principal/a.d.? There taxpayer money well spent!
