Globe parent company buys six newspapers

The Joplin Globe's parent company, CNHI, added to its stable of newspapers Tuesday, announcing the purchase of six daily newspapers from Dow Jones' Ottaway Newspapers division.

The newspapers are: The News-Times of Danbury, Conn.; The Daily Star of Oneonta, N.Y.; the Press-Republican of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; the Santa Cruz Sentinel in California; The Daily Item of Sunbury, Pa.; and the Traverse City Record-Eagle in Michigan.

The Globe at one time belonged to Ottaway before being purchased by CNHI.
