Public defenders withdraw from Paulite case

The federal public defenders appointed to represent Omega Paulite, former Rep. Nathan Cooper's alleged partner in an immigration fraud scheme, were granted permission to withdraw from her defense team Wednesday.
As noted in the Aug. 29 Turner Report, Ms. Paulite no longer needs public defenders since she suddenly has enough money to buy the services of the powerful Bryan Cave law firm, based in St. Louis.

Cooper, pleaded guilty earlier this month and will be sentenced in October. He resigned his position in the Missouri House of Representatives.
