Seventh District Congressman Billy Long spent $17,352.30 for booze and meals during the final three months of 2015, including four stops at the popular Schneider's of Capitol Hill liquor store, which advertises its "fine wine and spirits."
The most recent campaign disclosure report, filed January 29 with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) shows that the fiscally conservative Long received $132,566.44 in contributions, but spent $192,440.30.
The expenditures included at least 122 meals over a 122-day period and four purchases from Schneider's- $370.42 on December 7, $33.47 on December 9, $133.52 on October 28, and $97.93 on November 1.
Long's campaign contributors also paid for a $390.90 meal at the St. Louis Club, $263 at We, the Pizza, $878.63 at the Capitol Hill Club, $1,878.88 at Flare in Springfield, $748.66 at the Capitol Hill Club, $366.35 at We, the Pizza, $233.45 at Prime Rib, and $4,680.28 at the Searsucker at Caesar's Palace at Long's home away from home Las Vegas.
Long also spent $5,000 to rent a facility in Aspen, Colorado, for an event, which is not specified on the FEC forms, and had a hotel stay and meals in San Diego during the last quarter. That amount is not included in the $17,000/
Also listed on the expenses were more than $12,000 in credit card bills, which were not broken down to indicate what the money was used for.

I WONDER IF HE ACTUALLY EVER DOES WHAT HE WAS ELECTED TO DO. IT SEEMS HE'S ALWAYS EATING AND DRINKING!!
Oh Billly! When will the people wise up. Until then spend drink and be merry.
Change You Can Believe In!
In Vegas it's never time for last call!
Billy Long is an embarrassment to everyone in Southwest Missouri, but we have to vote for him because he is a Republican.
"Fed Up". Billy certainly picked the appropriate campaign slogan.
We could make money off of Billy Long. He has gotten so big you could fly him over a stadium with advertising on his butt.
And where was the support for his last primary opponent? No where...
He gives a new meaning to the term "pork barrel spending".
Billy has one huge advantage over the other candidates. The voters know if they reelect Billy he will not show his face here until the next election.
Billy Long has been a great disappointment-that he chose to throw away the opportunity to serve the people for personal pleasure is a tragedy.
The legend of Mr. Billy:
Billy Long was Mighty man
he could eat and drink more than any man
Money flowed into his hands
From the lobbyist who fed his clan
Washington outsider. lol
I guess we could all vote for Jim Evans and put an adult into our Congressional Seat. Oh wait, we can't do that. Jim is a Democrat.
No, you do not have to vote for him. if the Republicans don't like hum then find a better candidate, please!
The hard part is knowing Billy Long is using his elected office as a piggy bank to fund his extravagant lifestyle. When he orders food and drinks he doesn't even care what the tab is because the lobbyist have it covered. Then he has his aides write some canned piece to which he signs his name to try and show he is at work. How long oh Lord, how Long can Billy Long go on!
There is an old saying, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." Well, Billy Long is getting ready for the third fooling and I am betting the voters will happily get fooled a third time.
Maybe I should run for Congress. While I cannot eat or drink as much as Billy, I can probably lose as badly as he does at poker. Ain't it amazing what a stint in Congress will do for a person?
I have written to his office numerous times to ask for continued support for research funding for Type 1 diabetes (my son was diagnosed in 2012) & Multiple Sclerosis (I was diagnosed in 2012, also). My emails were met with a form letter providing no empathy or compassion, only BS about how we as a nation and individuals need to be fiscally responsible and there is simply not enough room in the budget. I know this tab was paid for by campaign contributions and not the budget, but come on! I have more fiscal responsibility than he could even imagine.

Billy Long was elected to keep Gary Nodler out of that seat. The problem was, the second time around there was nobody running to remove Billy Long from the seat.
There was another person running to remove Billy Long from his seat in the general election. It was Democrat Jim Evans. But because the majority of voters in SW MO only vote for Republicans Jim Evans didn't get the votes he needed to win. We deserve better than Billy Long and we need candidates from all parties running for office; not just Republicans.
We once had a Congressman named Dewey Long who held that Congressional Seat so long he was considered untouchable. Well in 1960 along came a Democrat named Charlie Brown who simply said it was time for a change. For once, the people of Southwest Missouri actually agreed and Dewey Short was sent on his way. Brown only served one term but he had served the purpose of getting rid of Short. Maybe Evans will serve the same purpose and get rid of Billy Long this time around.
Sounds like Billy is the same as he ever was. Only now he has more money to do it. Has to the be the luckiest bastard on the planet. Well, until he explodes like the dude at the end of Monty Python's "The Meaning Of Life."
