Joplin R-8 posts nine openings, including five teachers

The Joplin R-8 School District has posted nine job openings this week, including five teaching positions.

According to the district website, the following teaching positions are now open:

McKinley Elementary- art
McKinley Elementary- gifted
North Middle School- in-school suspension
North Middle School- math
Joplin High School- English

Other positions open include a special ed paraprofessional at the Beacon Autism Program in Carthage, Joplin High School assistant boys basketball coach, and two secretaries for the Special Services Department.

Insert the ship analogy...Huff hit the iceberg, Ridder tried to keep it afloat, Moss is going to realize that it is continuing its downward spiral. There are still too many rats residing in its walls. The smart ones got on the lifeboats and are headed to safety.

There is no teacher retention. The culture is still based on fear and intimidation. Most administrators are horrible and play favorites.
