Moderate to heavy rain returning to Joplin area Tuesday night, renewed threat of flooding

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Significant Flooding risk.
  Limited Non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

Flooding will continue to impact travel across the Missouri Ozarks
through tonight. While the more flashy rivers have crested,
several of the slower responding rivers will continue their slow
crest. Refer to the Missouri Department of Transportation
travelers map for status updates on highways. Secondary roads will
also remain high until runoff ceases and the larger basins drain.

Non thunderstorm wind gusts will approach 30 mph from southeast
Kansas eastward to Highway 65 from late morning into the afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

  Residual flooding will persist into early next week.

Moderate to heavy rain will move back in to the Ozarks Tuesday
night into Wednesday leading to a renewed threat of flooding.
