Agenda posted for Joplin R-8 Board of Education meeting

The Joplin R-8 Board of Education will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Memorial Education Building. Prior to the start of the regular meeting, a special meeting, required by state law, will be held to set the school calendar for the 2019-2010 school year.

Prior to the meeting, a closed session will be held at 5:30 p.m. to discuss personnel matters.

Word is a few complaining teachers ran to a couple board members to fire the hs principal. He is being forced to resign tonight. Just wow. The mess in joplin continues.

No wonder these kids are lacking any real education. Well, vast majority are lacking, but the few that have intelligent parents are still seeing their children study and learn. 170 days where is the schedule of 180 days when we went to school and if you failed a class or grade you had to repeat it. Not only that the next time you failed you had to repeat it again and again. Now fail one year and they get passed through high school to graduation even though they cannot add, subtract, multiply, divide, write a coherent sentence or point out location of our own 50 states or territory's. Seems the teachers are also lacking what ours had back in 50-60's if they need all those personal development days. Glad I am old and learned from my parents to study and save for the future.
