Webb City R-7 Board promotes Shawn Mayes, accepts six resignations

The Webb City R-7 Board of Education has promoted Shawn Mayes to director of student services.

Mayes replaces Brenton Byrd, who is now assistant superintendent for instructional services, replacing Trey Moeller, who retired and is taking the job as superintendent of the Galena, Kansas School District.

In other action, the board accepted resignations from the following:

-Debbie Whitworth, kindergarten

-Justin Belt, junior high communication arts

-Meghan Klosterman, psychological examiner






-Jessica Traylor, fifth grade

-Rachel Gutschenritter, kindergarten

-Kirbie Macary, high school FACS

In other action, Kayla Cullers, assistant director of student services/school psycnologist and contracts were extended to all building administrators.
