Illinois truck driver charged in connection with hit-and-run death of Destiny Chambers pleads not guilty

Lance T. Lee, 48, DeKalb, Illinois, pleaded not guilty during an arraignment this morning in Jasper County Circuit Court to a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Lee was behind the wheel in the hit-and-run accident that killed Soaring Heights Elementray third grader Destiny Chambers, 8, September 27 on Newman Road.






A pre-trail conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 29 before Judge Gayle Crane.

Lee is free on $500 bond.
