Bartosh stays silent as protesters call for his resignation

Approximately 40 people joined the Joplin for Justice protest at the Jasper County Courthouse Thursday calling for the resignation of Jasper County Presiding Commissions John Bartosh.

The calls for Bartosh to step down began after a video of his son, a 16-year-old Carthage High School student, drinking beer and singing a racist version of Alabama's "Song of the South" at Bernie's Bar and Grill in Avilla went viral on social media.

After the overwhelmingly negative response to that video, people began searching through John Bartosh's social media posts, seeing if there was any indication that the apple had not fallen far from the tree and discovered in 2019 Bartosh reposted a Facebook post featuring racist comments about the Muslim community.

Calls for Bartosh's apology and resignation began almost immediately.

At this point, Bartosh has not said a word.

It appears he is much quicker when it comes to apologizing when his son displays racist behavior.

Sorry for his failure to meet your desire for perfection...The ballot box is the way to replace him

This is exactly what I've been saying for years whenever people in the four state area complain about elected officials. It's not rocket science.

Stop your hatred. The man already apologized for the actions of his minor son. You people are ridiculous. But they also crucified christ, so I guess you all must be without sin also?
