Missouri recorded its worst one-day COVID-19 total in recent weeks and one of its worst all-time, confirming 2,008 new cases and 136 deaths today.
The statistics, which were posted this morning on the state's COVID-19 dashboard, put the state's count at 139,164 cases and 2,395 deaths.
Positivity rates for coronavirus taken during the past seven days, show Newton and McDonald counties tied for the highest in the state at 19 percent, Jasper County tied for fifth with 17 percent and Barton County tied for seventh at 15 percent.
